CONTINUING TO ACCOMPANY BY MINH PHU IN SPREADING TECHNOLOGY TO SHRIMP FARMERS
On the afternoon of April 20th, Tomota was honored to support local farmers in Ca Mau in applying Tomota S3 technology to their farm management processes, within the framework of a program to present 50 Tomota S3+ solution kits. The program was organized by Minh Phú Seafood Group in collaboration with the Department of Agriculture and Environment of Ca Mau province. This event marks an important milestone in bringing technology closer to shrimp farmers, helping improve farming efficiency and stabilize production seasons.
Currently, the shrimp industry plays a pivotal role in Vietnam’s seafood export sector, contributing about 40-45% of the country’s total annual seafood export value, equivalent to 3.5 to 4 billion USD. For this reason, each farming household in particular-and the nation as a whole -needs appropriate and long-term plans and strategies. It’s clear that digital transformation is being widely applied across most industries, aiming to optimize management processes, reduce costs, and increase productivity. In the shrimp sector, the government has been gradually integrating technology into farming processes to help shrimp farmers better control production costs.
A prime example is this recent handover of 50 Tomota S3+ solution kits to shrimp farmers in Ca Mau. Sharing a common goal of building a sustainable shrimp industry, the Department of Agriculture and Environment cooperated with Minh Phu Seafood Group to deliver these devices to local farmers. As the unit providing training and technical support on how to use the S3+ kits, Tomota was delighted to witness the enthusiastic response and positive energy from all the farmers attending the event. This clearly reflects the collective aspiration to modernize the seafood sector and open up opportunities for sustainable development.
The handover ceremony was attended by Mr. Chau Cong Bang - Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment; Mr. Le Van Quang - CEO of Minh Phu Seafood Group; as well as representatives from the Department of Fisheries, the Animal Health Sub-department, brackish water shrimp farming facilities, and shrimp seed production businesses in the province. During the event, Mr. Le Van Quang shared that applying the Tomota solution in farm management is remarkably simple - with just a 10-second video taken by a smartphone, farmers instantly receive detailed data on shrimp size, quantity, and health status. The solution also helps farmers regularly monitor shrimp health, detect digestive diseases early, and promptly intervene with treatment. This is the second time this device donation program has been organized, demonstrating clear efforts from both the government and major enterprises to bring practical technology into production, thereby improving productivity and crop quality for shrimp farmers.
Through this event, Tomota hopes that local shrimp farmers will actively learn, explore, and fully leverage the benefits of digital transformation - optimizing labor and costs, improving productivity and the quality of commercial shrimp, and ultimately enhancing economic value and profitability for the farming community.
